Who Is Creative Faye?
What's in a name?
Well hello there! thanks for stopping by, I love having people over and if this were my kitchen not a blog page I’d offer you a cup of tea or coffee and some fresh sourdough.
So where did the name Creative Faye come from? I’m glad you asked, I love names and meanings! Faye is my middle name and I do love Celtic stories and traditions, especially about the wee folk or fae/fairies! I also love being creative and teaching others to craft beautiful or tasty things! combine that with a love for writing and so Creative Faye was made. I hope you enjoy it and are inspired to make beautiful things that bring you joy!
Who I Am
Where do I start with that? I guess I’ll start at my deepest unshakable core foundation of who I am. I am a Christian, I love my Savior and want to proclaim him as my king in all I do. I am a woman who delights to embrace the way God made me and truly loves being feminine.
I am the wife of a hard working blue collar man who loves his God, his family, and a wide range of hobbies. He is the love of my life and together we have four amazing kids.
I am a mother and tough as that job often is, I wouldn’t change it for anything, I love being a mother, and teaching my kids. Whether it’s homeschooling or teaching traditional crafts and skills, I love being with my kids, this doesn’t mean its always easy, it definitely isn’t, but hey there’s something to blog about.
I guess my style could be called grandma core or cottage core, basically I love creating a warm cozy welcoming environment where people feel loved and comfortable. my love language is cooking you food and spending time. I love animals and plants (even though I DO NOT have a green thumb), and reading. my favorite place on earth is camping with family and friends.
I dream of one day having a few acres with a big garden, fruit trees, bees, rabbits, chickens, a dog, and some sheep. maybe even a milk cow. I’m not totally new to that life, growing up we raised hundreds of chickens, dozens of rabbits, lots of goats as well as dogs and 20+ cats. I miss that life, but I’ve learned to make every house we’ve lived in a home, I’ve learned to truly love every place I’ve lived even a foreign country during COVID with lots of restrictions and no family or friends. EVERY dwelling place can be a beautiful home! Whether a motel room or a mansion.
I believe everyone should learn to cook, there’s nothing like a home cooked meal! I have learned to cook delicious and nutritious food even on a very tight budget WITHOUT coupons.
So if you love making a house a home, cooking delicious food, discussing everything from scripture to child raising to decorating, or if you are like me and dreaming of one day having a few acres and your own little homestead then follow along and we will dream and create together!
